Don’t you love reviewing your credit card bill and seeing a charge that you don’t recognized from a company name you’ve never heard of?
Luckily (for you and the merchant), doing a search online of the unrecognized company name will often help you recognize the charge, but from the merchant’s side, it’s crazy not to keep stressing what the name on the bill will look like.
Having a small “Credit Card Payments Show As XXXX XXXXX” is nowhere near enough… If you’re not doing it already, be sure to have a big statement on all receipt pages, re-reminding them of what the name on the credit card bill will look like.
Also, be sure to have a phone number listed in their credit card statement… If you don’t have a dedicated customer support phone line, list a voicemail number that explains what you sell and what the price of different products are, so they can call and figure it out for themselves.
Simple stuff, but if you’re not doing it you’re risking increased chargebacks
