“And now for something completely different…”
I’m a musician and songwriter in addition to running Internet businesses, going way back… I paid my way through college in Santa Barbara playing in bars/nightclubs on the weekends, and I made a living playing music full-time for many years.
If you’re at all curious about the other side to my Jekyll & Hyde personality (hmmm, I wonder which side is “Hyde”? I’ll have to think about that…), here’s a link to download a song I wrote http://music.timgross.com
Even when I was a working musician in Los Angeles (this is pre-Internet days), I was experimenting and testing direct response advertising in magazines and newspapers, running 2-step classified ads for products in the back of The National Enquirer, Pennysaver, etc., so when the Internet came around I was already “up to speed” in writing sales letters that worked.
It seems kind of weird, but I got (and get) the same satisfaction from writing successful sales letters and helping to make web sites more successful that I did writing songs that I liked. (While they seem completely different, they both tap in to the same creative center, I guess.)
So… That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Hi Tim,
I truly enjoyed listening to your music. It’s nice to know there are people marketing online that have a well-rounded personality and that ife consists of things other than sitting in front of a computer!

Hey Tim, after buying your latest WSO I happened to find your blog and was nicely surprised to find out you are a fellow musician
)
I spent over 30+ years as a professional keyboard player working in the UK with a few stints on the American Cruise ships inbetween.
I’m now living in the US and trying to make a living online.
I still have a couple of great keyboards and a small home studio but sadly I’ve not found any suitable places to gig around here…. so these day’s it’s all about marketing.
I thought your track had an interesting chord progression from minor to major and some nice guitar passages.
If we lived closer it would be cool to get together and Jam ;o)
Keeping it real,
Regards,
Steve.
