Here’s my biggest secret for creating a successful product right out of the box:
Write The Sales Letter First
-Before you even START creating the product. Or if you hire outside copywriters to write your sales letters, hire one to write the sales letter first.
Why?
First, it will help clarify to yourself how much appeal the product will actually have when it’s done.
Second, it can actually help you shape what your product can do. As a copywriter when I’m hired to write an ad, I look over the product and think of “bullet points” of enticing benefits to use in the ad. There’s nothing worse than thinking of a great potential bullet point, then asking whether the product actually does that and being told “no”.
By writing the sales letter first, you can be sure to develop the product to match the best bullet points in the ad.
Money Shot: 1) If you can’t write a great ad for a product, it’s not worth developing in the first place. 2) Writing the ad first helps you develop the most attractive product to your potential customers right out of the box.
