It Turns Out That Fake Cancer Cures Are Bad…
By Tim Gross - Internet Business Blog | June 20, 2008
The FDA cracked down on online fraudulent cancer cure products this week. Besides the fact that they don’t work, they can also dupe buyers into thinking they don’t need to seek legitimate cancer treatment they need, which could kill them.
If your product causes death by deception, you might want to look into another line of work.
On a more general note, a lot of people seem to think that laws and regulations don’t apply online. In case you weren’t clear on that… they do.
Ignorance is no excuse of the law, and it’s pretty shocking how many people are unaware of basic copyright law, trademark law, and truth in advertising. The legalities of how to use testimonials, how to avoid getting ripped off doing Joint Ventures, how to protect your OWN work, how to avoid getting sued by sending out emails, what necessary disclaimers you must use, etc.
If you you’re new to this and want to learn how to protect yourself, I’d recommend you look over Internet Marketing Legal Secrets.
Better to be safe than sorry.
