Facebook: Include A Note With Your “Add To Friends” Please…

By Tim Gross - Internet Business Blog | April 6, 2008

OK, in case you haven’t been aware of it, the Internet Marketing Crowd has leaped on to Facebook this week… There’s a lot of networking going on, and this may be a good time to sign up and check it out, if you haven’t already.

If you sign up, do a search for me and click “Add to Friends”.  I’m using the same photo as the one at the top of this blog (There are duplicates for virtually every name there, so it helps to rely on photos.)

Do two things first after you start adding friends, though:

1) Under “Profile”, say something about being involved in online business, and of course list your URL if you have one.

2) If you click on “Add to Friends” for me, click the “Add a personal message” link and type something letting me know you’re from this blog or one of my lists or that you’re the one who set fire to the waste basket that I got blamed for in 7th grade, whatever.

Reason: Some people (me included) check profiles before adding friends… why not get a little “face time” with your “Add to Friends” request, instead of just being another anonymous “friend” on the list?

I’m not sure what’s going to happen with it all, but I think it’ll be an interesting experiment, it’s already been interesting.
